Vice Chairman AICTE visits Skill Development varsity

Vice Chairman of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) Prof. MP Poonia visited Bhartiya Skill Development University on Friday where he spent more than three hours with principals of different schools and staff discussing various issues pertaining to AICTE approval process.

BSDU is a unique skill development university in India with a vision to create global excellence in skill development sector by creating opportunities, space and scope for the development of talents of Indian youth and by making them globally fit to play an important role in the best manufactories.

During his visit, Prof Poonia apprised BSDU staff members about the procedure of receiving AICTE approval for various courses and programmes taught at BSDU.  He further explained the benefits of various schemes launched by AICTE. He also explained registration process for registering BSDU on AICTE portal for an internship of B.Tech students and training programs for Entrepreneurship skills. He discussed on the conduct of “Training of Trainers (TOT) from AICTE recognized Institutes” for skill courses running at BSDU.

Prof Poonia himself is specialised in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development. He is MTech (Thermal Engg.) and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He possesses a vast experience of 30 years. He appreciated the infrastructure, equipment, type of training provided at BSDU. He concluded the visit stating, “A great experience, unforgettable and never imagined that such infrastructure with extreme ambience is available in India. Superb faculty members with strong understanding and bonding.”  

Prof Poonia was accompanied by Registrar of BSDU, Prof Achintya Choudhury, Dean Dr Kumkum Garg and Principals of various schools.

Remarkable to note is that Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman AICTE has also visited the university on multiple other occasions where he always appreciated efforts of BSDU towards skill development.
