UK-based Pakistani boxer Amir Khan on Monday visited the army-run school in Peshawar where 150 people, mostly children, were massacred by the Taliban and expressed sympathies with the families of the victims.

"I was deeply shocked over the brutal killing of innocent children in the terrorists attack on the school," Khan said. "I came Peshawar to encourage the students. The killing of innocent children is against humanity," Khan said, adding that the attack was not only on the school but on the future of Pakistan.

Khan expressed solidarity with bereaved families. He met parents of one of the children killed in the attack on the Army Public School here on December 16 and offered homage at their residence. He visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where the injured students are currently treated and inquired about their health. He highly eulogised the courage and bravery shown by the students.

The boxer praised the nation and its security forces for their war against terrorism. Visiting the spots under tight security arrangements, Khan was received by Brigadier Mudasir Azam at Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
