A cabin crew of Vistara airline was allegedly sexually harassed by a 62-year-old man onboard UK 997 Lucknow-Delhi flight on Saturday. The woman alleged that Rajeev Dani made lewd gestures at her and tried to touch her inappropriately.

Police have registered a case and arrested the Pune resident, who is a researcher in the sugar industry and currently the head of Sugar Technology at the prestigious Vasantdada Sugar Institute (VSI).

"Based on the woman's complaint, a case under IPC section 354-A has been registered. The matter is being probed," said DCP IGI airport, Sanjay Bhatia.

"Vistara does not tolerate abusive or unruly behaviour by passengers that puts the safety of its staff and other customers at risk, or compromises their dignity," said a statement issued by the airline.

"We have reported the matter to the police and other relevant authorities." When asked about his arrest, VSI officials said, "He was travelling in his personal capacity. We can not comment on the action taken against him."
