COVID-19: Telangana govt to give Rs 2000, 25 kgs rice to teachers who lost jobs due to pandemic

Rs 2000, 25 kg rice will be given through Fair Price Shops per month to the teachers and other staff of the state's private educational institutions.

Hyderabad: The second wave of COVID-19 is creating havoc in the country and there are people who still haven't recovered from first wave’s extreme financial difficulties. At a time like this Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to release Rs 2000 financial assistance and 25 Kg rice each free of cost.

The financial aid and rice will be given through Fair Price Shops per month to the teachers and other staff of recognised private educational institutions in Telangana.

To get the financial assistance, the teachers of private educational institutions and other staff should apply to the district collector concerned with their bank account details and other relevant information, the Chief Minister said.

The CM has instructed Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy, Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar, Government’s Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma to hold a video conference at 11:30 am on Friday (April 8) at the state secretariat.

All the district collectors, District Education Officers and Civil Supplies departments officials will participate in the conference. Orders for the implementation of the required guidelines and action plan will be issued.

The CM said that this decision was taken on a humanitarian consideration and it would help 1.50 lakh teachers and staff working in the recognised private educational institutions in the State.
