The gruesome murders committed by Lucy Letby are making headlines across the country, with the serial killer nurse finally found guilty of killing seven newborn babies in cold blood, making this one of the most horrific medical crimes in the world.

The rare and horrific murder case has left the entire world shocked, and what was more horrific was that Lucy Letby, a nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital in the United Kingdom, had six more babies listed as her victims if she hadn’t gotten caught.

After finding her guilty of the gruesome murders, a separate inquiry has been set up to understand the motive behind the crimes of the serial killer nurse, and the prosecutors and jurors listed multiple theories as to why the 33-year-old woman resorted to killing innocent babies.

Throughout the trial, Lucy Letby showed no flicker of emotion but as soon as one of the male doctors from her hospital walked it, it caused the serial killer to break down and run for the exit door. This prompted a theory that she was infatuated with the male doctor.

While the serial killer nurse denied any romantic relationship with any of the hospital staff, jurors thought that the killings were committed to grab the attention of this male doctor who Lucy Letby used to fancy.

Another theory floated during the trial was that the nurse got a thrill out of the grief experienced by the parents after their child was dead. Lucy was seen expressing unusual behavior while their parents were grieving the loss, often smiling and talking about her bond with the babies.

Further, the police found a compelling letter at the home of the serial killer, which stated ‘I am evil, I did this.’ The letter said, “I don’t deserve to live. I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough to care for them. I will never marry or have children. I will never know what it’s like to have a family.”
