Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk usually makes headlines for his snarky and sarcastic remarks and social commentary on issues trending on Twitter. Musk has once again made a controversial remark on Twitter, which touched a nerve with some of the users.

Elon Musk openly took a dig at big tech companies like Facebook and Google, by calling them a place where talent goes to die. He made this comment while replying to a tweet posted by user JD Ross, who called out “Google’s greatest evil” in his post.

JD Ross said, “Google’s greatest evil is grooming brilliant 22-year-olds into becoming complacent careerists instead of ambitious founders who might one day compete with them.” To this, Elon Musk replied, “Most big companies in tech have turned into places where talent goes to die.”

While many users supported Musk’s statement about companies like Google and Facebook, others questioned him about how Tesla is doing things differently for young employees. Another user jumped in to defend Google, saying it offers a “challenging environment”.

The user said, “Google actually offers a challenging environment with top-notch individuals and financial and promotional rewards based on high performance and innovation. It’s a great place to build a career and make money early on, and then make a move.”

This is not the first time that Elon Musk has publicly hit out at big tech companies. Musk had strongly opposed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg after the violence that broke out at the US Capitol. He also mocked Amazon once for censoring the publication of a book about COVID-19.

Recently, a Facebook employee name Frances Haugen spoke out against the company, saying that Facebook turns a blind eye when it comes to the damages being done to young users on Instagram. He further shared internal documents with the Congress, Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), and the media.
