Slum dwellers protest over 'Slumdog Millionaire' title

"The name of the film depicts the sick mentality of Britishers," Bhardwaj said adding "even so many years after independence the mindset of English people have not changed towards Indians".

"The name (Slumdog) is not acceptable...we strongly condemn it," he said.

"I've not seen the film," he said in reply to a question and added the people living in slum clustters have strong objection to the name of the film. "Poor people cannot be called by the name of dog...its a shame," he said.
   
However, there was no disruption in the screening of the film.
