The following article contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War and older Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

It looks like two fan favourites are going to come back in Avengers 4 – Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.

While Quicksilver died in Avengers: Age of Ultron while battling Ultron, Loki was killed off in the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War.

Yet it looks like both of them might be making a comeback in the fourth Avengers instalment. Set photos from Avengers 4 have hinted at time travel and the Quantum Realm (shown in Ant-Man and Doctor Strange) .

And if that wasn’t enough, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was spotted with Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki who died at the beginning of Infinity War. Other leaked photos have shown Tony Stark, Hulk, Thor and Captain America in their original costumes from the first Avengers movie which has sparked the time travel theories.

To paraphrase Quicksilver: "You didn't see that coming?"

Another startling new theory doing the rounds is that Loki is actually alive and had taken the form of Bruce Banner. Josh L Dickey tweeted: “Loki's dagger sneak attack on Thanos was feeble. He knew it wouldn't work. Heimdall also knows Banner can probably survive anything Thanos throws at him in the short-term. On Earth, Banner is acting loopy. Can't hulk out. Deception more useful now than force. Banner is Loki."

'Avengers: Infinity War' features over a dozen superheroes, who come together to save the universe from their might opponent, Thanos. The film has earned over Rs 200 crore in India itself. It stars Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd and Tom Hiddleston.
