She’d dreamt of being a photographer since she was 16.

A marriage, two kids, then a divorce notwithstanding, Sheena Sippy has managed all that and more.

Having shot the likes of the late JRD Tata (when she was assisting Gautam Rajadhyaksha), Bollywood stars and ace model Naomi Campbell, she believes in the glass being half-full,

“You must have passion,” she explains, pouring out a her morning fix of coffee from her wood settee that faces large windows overlooking the sea, as her Beagle Kurry lounges about.

Nearby are pictures of her kids – son Zahan (17) and daughter Shaira (14) — the former a polo medallist and the latter who does show-jumping and dressage at the National level.

“You know, it was Kunal who inculcated the love for horses in them,” she refers to ex-husband Kunal Kapoor whom she divorced amicably five years ago. “It hasn’t been easy, but in the end it’s all about living your life with dignity."

"Work is great and I’m an extremely strong person. My family is there for me when I need them,” she continues, referring to film-producer father Ramesh Sippy, brother Rohan and good pal  Abhishek Bachchan whom she laughs and says, “He does not torture me like he does the others with his pranks.”

Being a hands-on mum, does she have to multi-task? “Well, I’m forced to, but happy all the same. I wish there were more hours in the day, I’m high on life, an adrenalin junkie if you please,” she grins.

That’s closely connected with her other big passion – travel. “You know, last year I travelled more than all my life put together, first Delhi, then Shanghai, Paris, Goa and France again.”

That the journey would be part of her new exhibit on photographs of people and places — Sheena wouldn’t know then. “I just clicked the pictures on the side,” she continues. There are plans for another book, her third.

But what has also put a twinkle in her eye is the new man in Sheena’s life. “I think I’m blessed,’ she smiles, her athletic frame leaning forward slightly,

“I think he’s Mr Right. The kids also get along with him wonderfully, so you never know…” she breaks off.

But there’s another man whom Sheena would like to have in her lens. “George Clooney,” she announces. “Isn’t he a hunk?”
