In wake of the rising COVID-19 cases in Delhi, a night curfew has been imposed in Delhi till April 30. The restrictions will remain in place between 10 pm and 5 am.

As many as 3,548 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the national capital on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 6,79,962. According to the health bulletin released by the Delhi government, the test positivity rate was 5.54 percent. More than 3,500 new cases were registered in Delhi for the fourth consecutive day. On Sunday, there were 4,033 new cases in the national capital. This was the largest number of cases of infection in one day in 2021. On April 3, 3,567 new cases were registered in the city and 3,594 cases were registered on April 2.
Delhi night curfew guidelines
- People who want to get vaccinated will be exempted.
- Exemption will be given to the passengers going to the airport, railway station and bus after showing valid tickets.
- Bus, metro, autos will be allowed to take those people who are exempt during the curfew during the scheduled time.
- Shopkeepers selling ration, grocery, fruits, vegetables, medicine will be allowed to get movement only through e-pass.
- Print and electronic media will also be allowed to move through e-pass.
- Private doctors, nurses, paramedical staff will also get exemption on showing an ID card.
Micro-containment zones will be formed
On Monday, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain had said that the government will soon create micro-containment zones in the national capital to stop the spread of the virus. The areas where more than three cases of COVID-19 will be registered in a day will be identified as micro-containment zones. More emphasis is being placed on the COVID-19 testing. Jain claimed that the state government is taking appropriate measures to prevent the infection.
Fines on spitting in public places
Significantly, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that Delhi is facing the fourth wave of infection but there is no thought of imposing lockdown. However, strictness is being continuously practiced in Delhi. Fines are being imposed for breaking the rules, even FIRs are being registered. Action has also been taken on many restaurants and hotels. Also, fines are being imposed on spitting in public places and not wearing masks.
