US dollar ends sharply dearer against rupee at Rs44.99

The US dollar ended sharply dearer against  rupee at Rs44.99/45.00 per dollar but Pound finished lower at Rs73.15/17 per pound at the close of the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market (Forex) here today.
