Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah paid his tribute to late actor Sir Sean Connery. Shah happened to be the co-star of Connery in his last film before demise. The movie in question is Stephen Norrington’s 2003 film, 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Naseeruddin Shah said that Sir Sean Connery did not have any ego despite being a superstar. For the uninformed, Sir Sean Connery is the first ever James Bond. The actor made his first appearance in the Bond film 'Dr No' which released in 1962. The '007' character was inspired by Ian Fleming's book.

Talking about Connery, Shah said, “All us co-actors were certainly in awe of Sean but he never displayed any sign of entitled behaviour. He didn’t need to, he was perfectly happy sitting around in his undershirt sans his wig, with us all and scratching himself and breaking wind.”

“He often asked us things about ourselves, which was touching. Celebrities are never interested in others. They’re always waiting to be asked things about themselves and are happy to hold forth about themselves even if not asked! Sean was an exception,” he added.

Naseeruddin Shah played Captain Nemo in the movie, while Sean played Allan Quatermain.

The actor was not too happy with the movie. During an interview, apart from complaining about the six-month shoot, Naseeruddin also called the film 'boring' and 'unbearable'.

“That was one of the most boring experiences I have ever had. The shooting dragged on for six months but I was making so much money out of it that I didn’t complain too much. The film itself was unbearable; I could not sit through it,” he said in an interview to The Hindu in 2019.
