Into The Wild with Bear Grylls and Akshay Kumar which aired on September 14, 2020, has created history in terms of TRP. The shoot took place in January this year at Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka. Akshay was the third Indian to feature on the show after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and superstar Rajinikanth. The Khiladi's episode aired on 12 Discovery Network channels and fans have been talking about it on social media pages.

1. Second highest-rated show in the infotainment genre (Discovery Channel): 24 lakh impressions

2. 1.1 crore people watched the premiere on Discovery Network channels

3. 2.6 crore people watched the show in the first week across Discovery Network channels (Original + Repeats)

4. Discovery Network had 90% slot share in infotainment genre during the time of the premiere. Discovery channel accounted for 79% channel share during the premiere time.

Talking about the social media buzz, #KhiladiOnDiscovery reached out to 1.31 billion individuals and delivered 2.9 billion impressions.

Meanwhile, during one of the sequences, Akshay was surprised when Bear Grylls claimed of making a tea out of elephant dung, "Can we drink it?" he asks incredulously. While it seemed undesirable at first, on tasting the elephant poop tea for the first time, Akshay seemed to be surprised by the fact that he actually liked it as he exclaimed, "That's really nice."

Akshay's friends Suneil Shetty, Katrina Kaif and wife Twinkle Khanna also wished him luck on the show.
