DNA's senior photographer Vipin Pawar has been declared the Indian Sports Photographer of the Year 2007.

The award, instituted by the Sports Journalists Federation of India, was presented by former Test captain Dilip Vengsarkar, now chairman of the national cricket selectors, and Pullela Gopichand, former All-England badminton champion.

Pawar was chosen over colleague Ramesh Nair, winner of the award the previous year, and Ritesh Uttamchandani of the Hindustan Times. Besides the main award, Pawar won in the portrait and action categories as well, thereby taking away all the three main awards.

Last year, Pawar had won the prestigious Indian Photographer of the Year award instituted by the Ramnath Goenka Foundation.
