Don of the decks, DJ Yves Larock

He is one of the world’s most popular House DJs and has played at some of the best nightclubs, but an India tour was definitely not in his scheme of things. In fact, Swiss DJ Yves Larock was quite surprised to know that his track Rise Up has been quite popular in the country.

“The track has done well worldwide but I had not expected it to do well in India. It’s great to know that it’s popular here and I’m thrilled to perform in front of a crowd that I have no clue about. I’m also looking forward to seeing the crowd’s reactions to my other tracks,” says Yves.

While the DJ is bringing his latest single Without Love on this tour of Mumbai, Delhi and Pune, he will also play his yet unheard single Don’t Look Back. “I like to make tracks that have a meaning and are trying to say something. Don’t Look Back is about how one must not give in and must go on till he has achieved what he had set out to achieve,” says the DJ.

Other tracks that are slated to make it to the set are Zookey and By Your Side. “Earlier, I used to try to plan my sets but I realised that whenever I did that, it didn’t go well. I learnt that one must be open and go with the flow,” he says. His dream though is to become a producer and have his own company where he can push young, upcoming DJs. “I can’t do DJing at 60. So I’d rather produce and encourage youngsters in the coming years,” ends the Swiss star.
