PUBG Mobile India update: Corporation charts out plans, relaunch back on the cards?

PUBG Mobile India endured a disappointing 2020 when it was banned along with 118 Chinese apps in September by the Government of India. PUBG Mobile India then announced some teasers in November that it was planning a relaunch around the New Year period. However, after building up the excitement, the bubble burst as the Government of India flatly denied PUBG Mobile India permission to relaunch in the country. Many reports speculated that the launch of PUBG Mobile India has now been pushed to March 2021 but that is only if the situation between India and China shows improvement. Heading into 2021, PUBG Mobile India will now have to play the waiting game but PUBG Corporation has now unveiled plans for the game in the year.

In a video message released by PUBG Mobile director James Yang, PUBG Corporation has made big plans to expand its base and business across the globe. PUBG Mobile’s global version will start the Club Open tournament in the first and third quarters while the Pro League of PUBG Mobile will take place in the second and fourth quarters. There is a PUBG Global Championship on the cards. PUBG Mobile also announced seven pro leagues for specific regions in the Commonwealth region, Western Europe, Northern America and Latin America as well as Brazil.

PUBG Mobile India’s disappointment

PUBG Mobile India built up tremendous anticipation for the relaunch of the game around the New Year period. PUBG Mobile India tied up with Microsoft Azure for data and user security and they removed Tencent as an entity within the game. PUBG Mobile India registered itself on the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

PUBG Mobile India’s parent company Krafton has appointed some new people, including a new country manager to head the operations. PUBG Mobile India’s delay has given FAU-G (Fearless and United Guards) the momentum to launch and capture the gaming market. The disappointment for many gamers and the void left by the delay of PUBG Mobile India will be the perfect launchpad for FAU-G.
