Sunny Deol's action-packed sequel Gadar 2 continues to roar at the box office and has now entered the Rs 300 crore club in India. Also starring Ameesh Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, and Manish Wadhwa in key roles, the film has been directed by Anil Sharma who also helmed the first part Gadar: Ek Prem Katha 22 years earlier.

After collecting Rs 284.63 crore in its first week, Gadar 2 added Rs 20.50 crore to its collections on its second Friday taking the total eight-day domestic collection to Rs 303.15 crore. This makes the actioner the second film this year (considering only the Hindi language release) to earn above Rs 300 crore in India after Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan.

Gadar 2 has also defeated Baahubali 2 (Hindi) to register the best-ever figures by a Bollywood film on its eighth day. The Hindi version of SS Rajamouli's action drama sequel had collected Rs 19.50 crore on its eighth day and now Gadar 2 sits at the top of this list with The Kashmir Files, Dangal, Pathaan, PK, KGF 2 (Hindi), RRR (Hindi), Sanju, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan occupying the rest ten places.

On Saturday, August 19 morning, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the official box numbers and wrote, "300 NOT OUT… #Gadar2 continues to ROAR… Mass pockets are in an altogether different league… Also, the contribution from Tier 2 and Tier 3 sectors will set a new benchmark… Expect BIGGG JUMP on [second] Sat and Sun… [Week 2] Fri 20.50 cr. Total: ₹ 305.13 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice".

Set before the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Gadar 2 takes forward the story seventeen years after the events in the first part. Sunny Deol's Tara Singh crosses the border to rescue his son Jeete aka Charanjeet Singh, played by director Anil Sharma's son Utkarsh Sharma, in the blockbuster.
