After Gadar 2's success, Ameesha Patel has been making some bold statements in her media interviews. After claiming that her relationship with Gadar director Anil Sharma was never good, she has now said that Kareena Kapoor didn't back out from Hrithik Roshan's debut movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (KNPH), but director Rakesh Roshan asked her to leave the film.

For the unversed, Kareena was the original choice opposite Hrithik for the romantic drama Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, but Ameesha replaced her and she made her debut with Hrithik in the blockbuster 2001 film. Now, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ameesha claimed that as Rakesh told her, Kareena was asked to leave the film, as there were creative differences among them. She said, "Actually, she didn’t back out. From what Rakesh ji told me, he asked her to leave the film because they were having differences."

After Kareena left, Pinky Roshan (Hrithik's mother) was shocked because crores were invested in the movie, the set was ready, and a replacement Sonia had to be found in three days. She said that as it was Hrithik’s debut, everyone was really stressed. Ameesha revealed where Rakesh spotted her, "Pinky aunty told me that the day Rakesh saw me at the wedding, he did not sleep all night. He was like ‘I got my Sonia, I got my Sonia, but I hope she says yes’.” Ameesha recalled how Rakesh praised her during the shoot of KNPH, "Rakesh uncle always said, 'This girl paid attention to everything I taught her on sets.’ He always praised me and said 'I was a blessing in disguise'.”

In another interview, Ameesha said that she never had a good relationship with Gadar director Anil Sharma. While speaking to News18, Ameesha claimed that Anil never thought her of as Sakina (her character in Gadar), and he wanted to cast Mamta Kulkarni as Sakina and Govinda as Tara Singh. As far as box office collections are concerned, till now Gadar 2 has collected Rs 487.65 crores.
