Apple iPhone 15 series local production began last week suggesting that India will be among the first countries where the new iPhones will go on sale. The Apple iPhone 15 series is an important launch for the Indian market as the company officially brought Apple Store to India a few months ago. Apple BKC, the tech giant’s first retail store in India, is situated in Ambani-owned Reliance Jio World Drive mall in Mumbai. As per Apple’s contract with Mukesh Ambani’s mall, the iPhone maker has to pay 2% revenue share to Reliance Jio mall for the first three years. The revenue share contribution will increase to 2.5% after the first three years. As per an old report by Economic Times, Apple BKC recorded sales worth over Rs 10 crore on the opening day and in a month, the store did around Rs 25 crore of sales. This means Mukesh Ambani got Rs 50 lakh as revenue share in addition to the Rs 42 lakh rent.
Apple iPhone 15 series is expected to draw a huge number of customers to Apple BKC for the first hand Apple experience. New Apple iPhone models often bring a significant sales jump for the company and this time, it will also benefit Mukesh Ambani.
The Apple Store is located at Jio World Drive at the West entrance. Jio World Drive is situated in Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, Maharashtra and offers valet parking services. The Ambani-owned mall has provided an exclusivity zone to Apple bars 22 competing brands including Amazon, Facebook, Google, LG, Microsoft, Sony, and others from occupying space or displaying any advertisement inside the exclusivity zone of the mall.
