Facebook is the biggest and most used social media platform across the world. The company has been focusing on how to make the platform more user-friendly and easy to understand. In its redesign for users in India, it has taken a step to make the app more user-friendly.

Amid its redesign for Indian users, Facebook Pages has removed Likes for users in the country and has also reduced the focus on followers of any specific page. The redesign of Facebook Pages was introduced in January this year and is being rolled out in India now.

As per the new design and user interface of Facebook Pages, the layout has been made simpler and more intuitive, which will also have a dedicated News Feed section, that will allow users to join conversations, follow trends, interact with peers and engage with fans.

In its official statement, Facebook said, “This will make it easy to follow trends, interact with peers and engage with fans. The dedicated News Feed will also suggest new connections such as other public figures, Pages, Groups and trending content that a Page or public figure cares about.”

The redesign of Facebook Pages also comes with an improved safety and security quotient, which will be able to detect restricted activity such as hate speech, violence, sexual, or spammy content and impersonation better than before. The visibility of the verified badge on a page has also been extended to maintain the authenticity of the information.

“A verified Page’s comment on another Page’s public post, may appear higher in the comments section and be visible in News Feed,” the company said. Users will also have the provision of following public and notable pages directly from the comments and recommendation sections.

Likes have been removed and focus on followers reduced to make sure that the users can now interact and connect with their favorite pages with ease. Facebook had also released a similar feature in Instagram, where users now have the option of hiding the number of likes on their posts from their respective followers.
