Monsoon illnesses are under control, says Health minister Eknath Shinde

As per the data shared by the state government's public health minister less number of cases has been diagnosed in the state related to monsoon illness. Besides giving out guidelines for preventive measures, the government states that awareness is created with the help of social media.

The number of deaths related to viral diseases are decreasing because of early diagnosis. Eknath Shinde, state's health minister, said, "During monsoon, cases related to viral diseases are seen to be increasing every month. This year, we have managed to control the diseases at local health center level rather than getting them treated in the hospital."

As per the data, the state has recorded around 399 gastrointestinal cases, zero cholera cases, 1,772 swine flu cases, 36 leptospirosis cases, 1232 dengue cases, 230 chikungunya cases, 2,322 malaria cases, 471 diarrhoea cases till July 15. He further added, "Update on the viral diseases are taken regularly from the diagnose center across the state with the help of video conference. Stock of medicines are sent to every health post and centers in rural as well as urban areas. Early detection of the cases helps to decrease the number of deaths and also start the treatment at a primary stage."

Shinde, added, "Citizens should not take any self-medication. One should visit a doctor rather than taking self-medication. With the help of civic bodies, notices has been given to various people to decrease the number of mosquito breeding spots."
