Acting on specific information, a special team headed by ATC DSP R Raja Srinivas and inspector John Victor, raided an apartment at Tiruvanmiyur on the East Coast Road last night and rescued the girls, a CB-CID press release said today.

Three pimps were arrested and three girls -- two from Bangalore and one from Kolkata -- were rescued from them by the Anti-Trafficking Cell (ATC) of the Crime Branch-CID Police in Chennai.
Acting on specific information, a special team headed by ATC DSP R Raja Srinivas and inspector John Victor, raided an apartment at Tiruvanmiyur on the East Coast Road last night and rescued the girls, a CB-CID press release said today.
The victims were lured into prostitution by the pimps, who promised good employment with good salaries.
Three mobile phones, Rs14,000 cash and a two-wheeler were recovered from the pimps.
All the three accused were sent for judicial remand and the rescued girls sent to Government Vigilance Home for Women, the release added.
