The accused fled from Pune police custody on Sunday.
The incident had taken place last Wednesday at the victim's residence and the accused was arrested under the section of IPC-307.
The accused visited the complainant and they had sex. However, when the complainant again wanted to have sex in the morning, the accused refused and stabbed the boyfriend.
The victim has been admitted to the hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
Earlier this month, a five-judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court unanimously decriminalised part of the 158-year-old colonial law under Section 377 of the IPC which criminalises consensual unnatural sex, saying it violated the rights to equality.
In four separate but concurring judgements, the top court set aside its 2013 verdict in the Suresh Kaushal case which had re-criminalised consensual unnatural sex.
