Luxury cruise ship Cordelia receives grand welcome at Kochi

Cordelia with 1,200 travellers on board reached the shores of Kochi on September 22 from Mumbai.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has partnered with a private company, Cordelia Cruises to offer the country's first indigenous cruise liner from September 18 onwards. Cordelia Cruises is India's premium cruise liner and aspires to promote and drive the cruise culture in India through experiences that are stylish, luxurious, and most importantly, inherently Indian.

IRCTC has entered into a partnership with Cordelia Cruises private company, being operated by Waterways Leisure Tourism for marketing and promotion of India's first indigenous luxury cruise. This is another luxury travel offering to the public under the railway PSU's umbrella of tourism services.

Cordelia with 1,200 travellers on board reached the shores of Kochi on September 22 from Mumbai. The luxury liner MV Empress anchored at Cochin Port, Willingdon Island around 5 am and received a grand welcome from the locals. 

"It has been a great experience to be on the first cruise at the Cochin International Cruise Terminal and to experience such a warm welcome with the folk music and cultural performance. It was an absolute delight to be experiencing the culture the moment we entered the terminal. Kerala Tourism has been a fresh and heartfelt experience!" said Cordelia Cruises.
