Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah hospitalised, days after testing positive for COVID-19

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, who had tested positive for COVID-29 a few days back, has been hospitalised on doctor’s advise on Saturday (April 3). Until now, he was in home isolation.

The news was broken by his son, vice president of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah on Twitter.

“Based on the advice of doctors to enable them to better monitor my father, he has been admitted to hospital in Srinagar. Our family remains grateful to everyone for their messages of support & their prayers,” Omar wrote in his Tweet.

The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 30, four weeks after getting covid-19 vaccine jab.

Several leaders, including Prime Minister Modi wished the 83-year-old a speedy recovery after he had tested positive.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 517 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the total tally to 1,31,938. With five new fatalities, the death count now stands at 2,003. Out of the fresh cases, 96 were from the Jammu Division and 421 from the Kashmir Division of the union territory, officials said.
