Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas shocked their fans earlier this month when they announced they are separating. The star couple have been married for four years now and have two daughters together. Earlier this month, it was reported that Joe had filed for divorce, something the two confirmed via a joint statement. The pictures are genuine but only tell half the truth. Sophie and Frank are shooting a series called Joan in Spain currently. The two actors filmed a few scenes for the show on a beach in Spain’s Colonia de Sant Jordi recently. The pictures show Sophie, dressed in a green monokini with a multicoloured shrug, frollicking with Frank in the water. The two actors can be seen having fun in the waves and also sharing a kiss, but all for the camera. The pictures got a saucy twist after several news sites in the West shared them with misleading headlines, leading to social media accounts also picking them with a more scandalous angle.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ divorce
Earlier in September, the Hollywood Reporter reported that Joe and Sophie had filed for divorce after four years of marriage. As per documents obtained by the portal, the reason for the divorce is that “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” A day after the news broke, the couple issued a joint statement addressing their marriage. “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage." The couple further asked fans to not believe in the 'speculative narratives' about their divorce and added, "There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision,” read part of the statement.
Sophie and Joe had a surprise wedding in a Las Vegas chapel in 2019, which was attended only by close family members, including Joe’s brothers Nick and Kevin as well as Nick’s wife, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra. Sophie, 26, is best known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, and has also appeared in a number of other shows and films. Joe, 34, shot to fame as part of the band Jonas Brothers which he formed with his brothers.
