In October 2021, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced their separation after their four-year-long marriage. In June last year, Nagarjuna Akkineni's son was rumoured to be dating the Made In Heavean-fame actress Sobhita Dhulipala. However, the two have not confirmed their relationship yet.

This week, some rumours began circulating that Naga Chaitanya, fondly known as Chay, has finally decided to settle down again with his second marriage but the bride won't be Sobhita. It was said that Nagarjuna is himself finding a girl from a non-filmy background with no links to the glamour world for his son.

However, some sources close to the Custody actor have confirmed that these rumours are completely baseless and false. A source was quoted telling Pinkvilla, "Naga Chaitanya to tie the knot for the second time is not at all true. This fake news has been making waves in the entertainment industry very randomly but let me clarify, it is baseless."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Naga Chaitanya made his Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha last year. An official remake of Tom Hanks' multiple Oscar winner Forrest Gump, the Advait Chandan directorial failed to attract masses to the theatres and turned out to be a commercial failure.

The actor is all set to make his OTT debut with Dhootha, Amazon Prime Video's first Telugu original, a supernatural horror thriller show. The web series, directed by Vikram K Kumar, also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai, and Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam in prominent parts. The one-line summary for Dhootha reads, "In this supernatural horror, possessed inanimate objects wreak havoc on the lives of people who commit deadly sins."
