Filmmaker Shankar drops new look of Kamal Haasan from Indian 2 on Independence Day.
Filmmaker Shankar Shanmugham recently shared a poster from his upcoming movie Indian 2 featuring Kamal Haasan and wished his fans on Independence Day. Fans who have been waiting for an update from the movie praised the actor’s look.
On Tuesday, Shankar took to his Twitter and dropped Kamal Haasan's look from the upcoming movie Indian 2. In the poster, the actor can be seen wearing a brown uniform which has a badge of the Indian Flag on it and the background of the poster shows tricolor balloons behind the actor with a text that reads ‘Happy Independence Day.” The filmmaker captioned the tweet, “#Indian 2”
Netizens praised Kamal Haasan's poster and expressed their excitement for the movie. One of the comments read, “Pan-India mega-blockbuster is coming.” Another wrote, “This is just perfect.” Another fan commented, “Senapathy is back.” Another wrote, “Perfect! Something great is coming on its way.” Another wrote, “like your creativity and making sir, eager for Kamal sir as Senapathy…wish great success.”
Helmed by Shankar, Indian 2 is a sequel to the 1996 film Indian. The film stars Kamal Haasan who is reprising his role as Senapathy, an old freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption and crimes. The film also stars Rakulpreet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Nayanthara, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Siddharth among others. The movie’s release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
The film is backed by Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions and DMK Youth Wing Secretary and MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin via Red Giant Movies. Meanwhile, Shankar is also working on another movie starring global star Ram Charan. The movie is titled Game Changer, written by Karthik Subbaraj. The Telugu-language political action thriller film also stars Kiara Advani and is scheduled to release in 2024.
