Veteran ex-politician and prolific orator Nanjil Sampath made his on-screen debut with RJ Balaji's political entertainer LKG which released in cinemas on February 22 and opened to rave reviews everywhere. Now, there have been reports in a section of media that Nanjil Sampath has been signed to play a key role in Thalapathy Vijay's next untitled film, fondly called by fans as Thalapathy 63.

When we got in touch with a bankable source from the team, they ultimately denied the report as a baseless rumor. Vijay's previous film Sarkar directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sun Pictures had DMK politician Pazha Karuppaiah as the antagonist. Directed by Atlee, Thalapathy 63 has Lady Superstar Nayanthara playing the lead heroine role. Vivek, Yogi Babu, Kathir, Daniel Balaji, and Anandraj form the supporting cast of the film, which is progressing swiftly in Chennai and is being produced by AGS Entertainment.

Nanjil Sampath played the role of RJ Balaji's father in LKG as Azhagu Meiyappan, a failed politician. Balaji had written the role of Nanjil keeping his real-life image in mind. In one of his interviews, Balaji revealed that Nanjil Sampath didn't make enough money like other politicians despite being in politics for nearly three decades. Nanjil's second film will be Sivakarthikeyan's untitled sophomore production which is being directed by debutant Karthik Venugopal of YouTube channel Black Sheep fame.
