India's batsmen delivered an electrifying performance in the second ODI against Australia in Indore, propelling the team to a colossal total of 399 for 5 in their allotted 50 overs. Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav left the cricketing world in awe with their remarkable contributions, while late fireworks from Suryakumar Yadav added to the spectacle.

This monumental total not only marked India's highest-ever score against Australia in the ODI format but also saw an astounding display of power hitting, with Indian batsmen collectively smashing a total of 18 sixes. This extraordinary feat also made India the first team in the history of cricket to surpass the 3000-six mark in ODIs.

Australia's decision to put India in to bat first yielded an early wicket, with Ruturaj Gaikwad falling to Josh Hazlewood after a catch behind by Alex Carey. At 16/1 in 3.4 overs, India faced a momentary setback.

However, the dynamic duo of Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer took charge, orchestrating a remarkable partnership that resurrected the innings. Iyer showcased impeccable timing and found the boundaries effortlessly, propelling India past the 50-run mark in just 7.3 overs.

Gill and Iyer's partnership continued to flourish as they reached their 50-run milestone in a mere 29 balls. By the end of the first powerplay, India had surged to 80/1 in 10 overs. India's aggressive run-scoring continued as they raced to the 100-run mark in 12.5 overs, with Gill and Iyer showcasing exceptional skill. Gill brought up his half-century in 37 balls, featuring two boundaries and two towering sixes.

The partnership between Gill and Iyer was relentless, culminating in a spectacular 150-run stand in just 107 balls, pushing India past the 200-run mark in 28.3 overs. Iyer went on to achieve his third ODI century in 86 balls, displaying ten boundaries and three powerful sixes.

The duo's magnificent partnership was finally disrupted when Sean Abbott dismissed Iyer for a well-crafted 105 from 90 balls, including 11 boundaries and three sixes. At this juncture, India stood at 216/2 in 30.5 overs. Shubman Gill, meanwhile, reached his sixth ODI century in 92 balls, embellished with six boundaries and four commanding sixes. The partnership reached its peak before Gill was dismissed by Green for 104 off 97 balls, with India at 243/3 in 34.5 overs. India swiftly crossed the 250-run milestone in 35.1 overs.

Captain KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan continued the onslaught, guiding India to 300 runs in 40.1 overs. KL Rahul secured his half-century in just 35 balls, featuring three boundaries and three colossal sixes, including one that sailed out of the park.

Adam Zampa managed to dismiss Ishan Kishan for 31 off 18 balls, bringing the Indian score to 302/4 in 40.2 overs. Suryakumar Yadav entered the scene and immediately set the stadium ablaze, smashing four consecutive sixes off Green in the 44th over. India effortlessly reached the 350-run mark in 45.3 overs. However, Green managed to redeem himself somewhat by dismissing KL Rahul for 52 off 38 balls, with India at 355/5 in 46 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav continued his explosive form, reaching his second successive ODI fifty in just 24 balls, comprising three boundaries and five colossal sixes. His late fireworks, along with an unbeaten contribution from Ravindra Jadeja, propelled India to a formidable total of 399/5 in their allotted 50 overs.

Despite a challenging day, Green emerged as the standout bowler for Australia, securing two wickets at the cost of 103 runs. Hazlewood, Zampa, and Abbott each contributed with one wicket apiece.
