Reliance Industries, India’s most valuable company with over Rs 17 trillion market cap, is hosting its annual general meeting (AGM) and its chairman Mukesh Ambani will make several key announcements at the event. Over the past few years, Mukesh Ambani, Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani have used the AGM stage to launch and showcase new products of Reliance Industries and that also includes smartphones. Recently, Mukesh Ambani launched India’s ‘cheapest’ internet-enabled smartphone and today, India's richest man is expected to launch the country’s most affordable 5G smartphone. Reliance Jio, an Akash Ambani led subsidiary of Reliance Industries has already launched several products to cater the masses and today (August 28), it may launch a very important product for the 5G users in India.

Known tipster Mukul Sharma spotted two rumoured Reliance Jio phones on the BIS certification website. The Jio phones listed on BIS website have model number JBV161W1 and JBV162W1 respectively. As per the details shared by the leakster, the phones will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC under the hood. When it comes to camera, the device will likely get a dual rear camera setup with 13MP primary camera sensor along with a 2MP secondary sensor. For video calls and selfies, the phone is expected to get an 8MP camera. The device is said to be backed by a 5000mAh battery and offer 18W fast charging support. 

If previous leaks are to be believed, one of the phones has the codename ‘Ganga’. It features Samsung’s 4GB LPPDDR4X RAM and 32GB storage that can be expanded with a microSD card. The phone likely gets a 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate.

To recall, Reliance announced partnership with Google to launch an affordable 5G smartphone for Indians in the last AGM. This year, the company is expected to launch that much awaited phone.
