The comedy drama Thank You For Coming, headlined by Bhumi Pednekar and produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor, hit theatres on Friday, October 6. Though the trailer failed to impress the viewers, the film came in as a surprise and received positive reviews from critics and moviegoers, who saw the film on its first day of theatrical release.

This led to a decent increase in the collections of Thank You For Coming as the film earned Rs 1.40 crore (early estimates) on its second day, which is 30% more than its opening day of Rs 1.06 crore, as per the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk.com. The numbers of Rs 2.46 crore in the two days may not look good, but considering its limited release at around 550 screens and A-rating, the film is doing exceptionally well.

Apart from Bhumi, the film features Shibani Bedi, Dolly Singh, Sushant Divgikr, Kusha Kapila, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Natasha Rastogi in prominet roles. Anil Kapoor, who has also co-produced the film under his banner Anil Kapoor Film & Communicaton Network (AKFCN) Pvt. Ltd, and Karan Kundrra are seen in delightful cameos.

Thank You For Coming was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last month and received positive reviews from international publications as well. It marks the directorial debut of Karan Boolani, who is Rhea Kapoor's husband, Sonam Kapoor's brother-in-law, and Anil Kapoor's son-in-law.

The female buddy comedy saw its clash against Akshay Kumar-starrer Mission Raniganj, which has earned Rs 7.50 crore in its two days. The rescue thriller also stars Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Jameel Khan, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Parineeti Chopra, Sudhir Pandey, and Shishir Sharma.
