In a recent round of interviews, former model and actor Tanushree Dutta once again opened up about the harassment she faced on the sets of 'Horn Ok Please' in 2008. Bollywood actor, director and producer Farhan Akhtar was amongst the first ones in Bollywood to come out in support of Tanushree.

Priyanka Chopra, Twinkle Khanna, Richa Chadha, Swara Bhasker, Hansal Mehta and Parineeti Chopra also joined the conversation and agreed that the world needs to hear out women and believe survivors.

The latest one to extend solidarity is Sonam Kapoor, who also tweeted in support of Tanushree Dutta. Replying to a thread on Twitter posted by journalist Janice Sequeira who shared a first-hand account of what happened on the sets in 2008, Sonam wrote, "I believe #TanushreeDatta and @janiceseq85 recollection of the account. Janice is my friend, and she is anything but an exaggerator or a liar. And it’s upto us to stand together."

Sonam Kapoor went on to add, “Many of my co-workers,female and male have been harassed and bullied, but it’s their story to tell. If we don’t encourage their voices and instead vilify and question them, how will victims ever become survivors? Let them speak up! Stand up with them!”

With such powereful women coming forward to extend solidarity to Tanushree, can we call this the beginning of a #MeToo movement in India?
