Shilpa Shirodkar becomes first Bollywood actor to get vaccinated against COVID-19; shares her experience

The novel coronavirus had wreaked havoc on people's life since before the lockdown was announced in India back in March 2020. As people are now getting used to the "new normal", they are also equally thrilled to get vaccinated against the deadly virus. 

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shirodkar, on Thursday, took to her social media to announce that she had been vaccinated against COVID-19 in United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

Shilpa took to her social media account and posted a photo of herself after getting vaccinated. She wrote, "Vaccinated and safe !! The new normal .. here i come 2021 Thank you UAE."

The countries have now started prepping for the vaccination process all around the world. Shilpa lives in the UAE and became the first actress from Bollywood to get vaccinated against the novel coronavirus. 

For the uninformed, Shilpa is the elder sister of former Miss India Namrata Shirodkar. Both the sisters had entered the glamour industry together and while Shilpa chose Bollywood, Namrata got into modelling. 

Shilpa is known for several films that she has worked in such as Gopi Kishan, Trinetra, Dil Hi To Hai, Hum, Aankhey, among others.

After a 13-year hiatus from acting, she made her comeback to acting, this time on television in the Zee TV series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan in 2013.

On the other hand, Namrata Shirodkar resides in Hyderabad and is married to superstar Mahesh Babu. The couple is parents to a son named Gautham (13) and a 7-year-old daughter named Sitara.
