Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut almost signed an adult film before she was offered 'Gangster', her 2006 debut film. Talking about the turning point in her career, Kangana had said on a television show in 2017: "...I remember getting a very shady offer, I think it was not a right movie. But I was like, 'Okay, fine, I'll do it'. And then I did a photo shoot and then they gave me robe and there was nothing inside the robe. And it looked like some blue film or something and I was like, 'This doesn't look right' because it's obviously not the right film."

"But then I got Gangster and I'm like 'I'll do that film.' And then my producer got furious and I was in trouble for some time because I abandoned that project. And I was very young, I was 17 or 18. And if I would have not gotten Gangster, I am sure I would have done that film. But I think the thing about me was that I always said yes to every offer," she said on the show.

Recently, on MidDay's chatshow 'Sit With Hitlist', Kangana once again talked about the film and revealed the name of the person who offered it to her. She said that she was offered the character of a "young girl lusting after her middle-aged boss" in a film called 'I Love You Boss' by former CBFC Chairman Pahlaj Nihalani

The 32-year-actress recalled the incident on the talk show and said: "The fact that people met and promised to guide and help me, but then I was put under house-arrest. And then Pahlaj Nihalani had offered me a film called I Love You Boss. They had a photoshoot where they gave me a robe to wear, and no undergarments. So, I just had a satin robe for a show-girl pose, from which I had to stick my leg out, coming out of darkness."

"They should at least have given some tapes. I was supposed to play a young girl lusting after her middle-aged boss. So it was a soft-porn sort of character. And I had this epiphany that I can't do this. I felt like this is exactly what my parents were talking about. I actually went through the photo shoot, but then I disappeared. I changed my number," Kangana said on the show.

Kangana, who was auditioning for other roles simultaneously, got selected for Anurag Basu's 2006 film Gangster and Puri Jagannadh's Telugu film Pokiri, alongside Mahesh Babu. However, she picked Gangster as her debut project and the rest is history.
