At least one person was killed and six others injured when suspected LTTE militants triggered-off an Improvised Explosive Device in a commercial area of the Sri Lankan capital.
COLOMBO: At least one person was killed and six others injured on Monday when suspected LTTE militants triggered-off an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a commercial area of the Sri Lankan capital.
"It is believed that the bomb was planted inside a concrete pot along the Galle road opposite the Roxy cinema in Wellawatta," a defence official said.
According to the initial report, a civilian was killed and six others received injuries due to the explosion that took place at around 7 am.
The injured included four children, the official said.
