India secured a resounding 5-0 triumph over Japan in the semi-final of the Asian Champions Trophy 2023, held at the esteemed Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai on Friday. 

The match commenced with a goalless first quarter, but it was Akashdeep Singh who broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, propelling India to a 1-0 lead. The home team further solidified their dominance before half-time, with Harmanpreet Singh (23) and Mandeep Singh (30) extending the scoreline to an impressive 3-0. 

In the third quarter, Sumit showcased his prowess by adding another goal, widening India's lead to a commanding 4-0. Finally, in the last quarter, Selvam Karthi sealed the deal with a goal, securing a resounding 5-0 victory for India.

India's exceptional performance throughout the match demonstrated their unwavering determination and skill. The team's cohesive efforts, coupled with their strategic gameplay, allowed them to overpower their Japanese opponents. Akashdeep Singh's early goal set the tone for the match, instilling a sense of confidence and momentum within the Indian squad.
