A gigantic asteroid will fly right past the Earth in the next four days, said National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

NASA's Asteroid Watch widget to track asteroids and comets shows that the  “Asteroid 2020 ND” will move past Earth on July 24.

As per the reports, the asteroid which will fly past in the next four days is 50% bigger than the famous London Eye.

The report further added that the asteroid will come within just 0.034 astronomical units (AU) or 5,086,327 kilometres of Earth. It is moving at a speed of 48,000 kilometres per hour.

The asteroid is estimated to be 160 metres or 520 feet in diameter but there is no reason to worry, as it will safely fly past Earth.

According to NASA, Near-Earth objects (NEOs) are asteroids and comets that orbit the Sun, but their orbits bring them into Earth’s neighbourhood — within 30 million miles of Earth’s orbit.

NASA’s Near-Earth Object (NEO) Observations Program finds, tracks, and monitors near-Earth asteroids and comets.

The Center for Near-Earth Object Studies, based at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, also uses these data to calculate high-precision orbits for all known near-Earth objects and predict future close approaches by them to Earth, as well as the potential for any future impacts by objects from outer space.
