Youth stabbed to death in Delhi

A 22-year-old youth was stabbed to death in outer Delhi when he resisted an attempt by four unknown persons to rob him, police said.

The incident took place in a park near Rithala Metro station last night and the victim has been identified as Ranjit.

Ranjit and his friend Rajesh were having drinks in the park when four persons came and asked them to hand over their belongings, a senior police official said.

"Rajesh gave his purse. However Ranjit resisted and the four men beat him up. When he continued to resist, they stabbed him. They took away his mobile and purse," the official said.

Seeing this, the official Rajesh rushed out to call locals.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Ranjit died due to excessive bleeding, doctors said.
