Cricketer Gagandip was shot dead in the city after being caught in a row between a shopkeeper and a customer on October 9 in Kanpur.

Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) today handed over a cheque of Rs5 lakh as economic assistance to the family of cricketer Gagandip who was shot dead in the city after being caught in a row between a shopkeeper and a customer on October 9.
Secretary of the association P D Pathak handed over the cheque to the cricketer's family. Meawnhile, Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal after meeting the relatives of Gagandip, who represented India in an under-19 series in Australia, announced an assistance of Rs51,000. Jaiswal also promised to talk to BCCI officials for providing the family some assistance.
