BJP fields singer Hans Raj Hans from North West Delhi Lok Sabha seat; here is full list of BJP candidates in Delhi

The BJP on Tuesday announced singer Hans Raj Hans' candidature from North West Delhi, hours before the deadline for filing of nomination.

Udit Raj, the incumbent MP from North West, had threatened to resign and contest as an independent if his candidature was not announced from the seat. "I am waiting for ticket if not given to me, I will do goodbye to party," he said in a tweet this morning.

This was one of the reasons behind the delay in announcing Hans' candidature, party insiders said.

Hans, a noted Punjabi singer, will take on Guggan Singh of the AAP and Rajesh Lilothia of the Congress on the only reserved seat in Delhi. The North West Delhi constituency is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste. Hans belongs to Valmiki community.

Last night, Raj, accompanied by dozens of his supporters, reached the Delhi BJP office on Pant Marg, where they created a ruckus. 

Hans Raj Hans was present at the office along with other party leaders. 

He had joined the Congress in February 2016 ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections but quit within a few months and joined the BJP.

Manoj Tiwari: North East Delhi 

Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma: West Delhi

Gautam Gambhir: East Delhi

Ramesh Bidhuri: South Delhi

Hans Raj Hans: North-West Delhi
