Divvij Kak, actor

In the genes:

Son of National Award Winner Jabeen Jalil, Divvij Kak is all set to make his place in the tinsel town. Though a BSc graduate from the University of California, Divvij feels it's his passion for acting that has brought him this far. “I guess I always had it in my genes. My mom has always been my inspiration. I know getting into acting after my degree was going to the other end of the spectrum. Mom always wanted me to do something more concrete. However, one fine day, I just decided that enough is enough. We packed our bags and came here to be a part of Bollywood,” he says.

Career till date:

Just one movie old and another named ‘Pehli Nazar Ka Pyaar’ in the pipeline, Divvij agrees he has a long way to go. However, he is unperturbed. “My career graph is right now of just a single film that wasn't marketed well. It's very important if the movie has to do well. I basically believe in doing good work at the end of the day,” adds Divvij who plays a tourist guide in the upcoming flick. “It was a mind blowing experience to work for the movie. Though the movie was shot in a span of 34 days, it's the post-production that took time,” he explains.

Maternal support:

Ask him about the rapport that he shares with his mom and he says, “Mom has always been there like a great support for me. Both of us are like friends. She is also like an older sister to me, all packed into one!” So, who does he admire in the industry? “I admire my own director Arshad Khan. Apart from that, I have great respect for Subhash Ghai, Shyam Benegal and Aneez Bazmi. In terms of actors, I really like the kind of roles that Aamir Khan does.”
