Banker to Director: Vikramjit Singh cherishes dream with 'Roy'

An investment banker by profession, Singh opted to give up this lucrative career to make a name for himself at the box-office in Indian cinema.

Bollywood debutant director Vikramjit Singh has said that the making of his film 'Roy', is a 'fulfillment of a long cherished dream'.

An investment banker by profession, Singh opted to give up this lucrative career to make a name for himself at the box-office in Indian cinema.

"I wanted to make movies since I was 7 to 8 years of age. I went to the States to study for 4 years. I was an investment banker for two years. Then, gave up my job in 2002 and came back to India. I wanted to get into the business. I did some work around, assisted a bunch of people and wrote few stories. And, then, finally 'Roy' happened," Singh said.

He further added, "I wrote the script, and then I realized that was the movie I wanted to make. Approached my actors, they seemed game for it. Called producer on board and here we are." Roy' stars Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez. 

The movie is set to release on 13th February 2015.
