The police have recovered as many as 3,400 cartons of illicit imported liquor made in Australia, France and Italy from their godown.

A Delhi University student, an M Com graduate and their associate have been arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police for selling and storing illicit liquor in West Delhi's Paschim Vihar area. The police have recovered as many as 3,400 cartons of illicit imported liquor made in Australia, France and Italy from their godown.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Samuel Kutty and Aditya Gupta. While Kutty is an M Com graduate from Kerala, Gupta is a graduate from the College of Vocational studies in Delhi University and worked as a deputy general manager at a multinational firm in Delhi. Kutty had earlier worked in Dubai as well. One of their school-dropout associate Virender Singh Rana was also arrested by the Crime Branch.
Police officials stated that they had received an input about people running an illicit liquor syndicate in order to sell imported alcohol without a license. "The police officials also informed the Excise department following which a decoy customer was sent to the basement of a commercial place in Paschim Vihar. The deal was fixed following which a joint raid was conducted and Virender Singh Rana was arrested.
