While the Department of Art and Culture was asked to submit reports on 89 issues, the Department of Education was told to give a report on 41 matters.
Bureaucrats in the Capital are all set to submit the reports as asked by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The IAS officers of the departments under Sisodia were asked to submit status of pending proposals in writing every week.
Citing Rule 17 of Transaction of Business Rules (1993), Sisodia had ordered the principal secretaries (Education) and secretaries (Art, culture & languages) to submit statements to him on proposals and matters and their expected timeline every week. While the Department of Art and Culture was asked to submit reports on 89 issues, the Department of Education was told to give a report on 41 matters.
“All the officers are working and the reports are also ready. We will submit all the details to the minister on Monday. All the details are with us and there was no problem in working on it. Just asking officers to suddenly submit a report on a large number of cases is unjustified,” said a senior bureaucrat.
“Merely stating its pendency with another department will not suffice. If any matter is pending, then it is the responsibility of the secretary to find out the current status and give the reasons for the delay,” Deputy CM had said in his order to the secretary of Department of Art and Culture.
"The officers worked till 12 midnight and were working even on Sunday. We will give the report and a detailed one at that. All work will go on,” said another officer.
