The recent inclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin in the Indian cricket squad for the three-match series against Australia has sparked discussions among experts and veteran cricketers. There's also a looming possibility that the senior all-rounder could find himself in the World Cup team, given the injury setback of Axar Patel. However, it's not just the inclusion of Ashwin that has caused a stir; it's the omission of other promising talents like Sanju Samson that has ignited a social media storm.

Samson, the wicketkeeper-batter, found himself at the center of this controversy when he wasn't given the opportunity to prove himself in the opening two matches of the series, even though four regular players were rested. Samson had been part of the Asia Cup team, albeit as a traveling reserve. However, his journey was cut short as he was sent home at the start of the Super Four stage of the continental event, and subsequently, he was overlooked for the Australia series.

Social media erupted with questions and frustration directed at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), questioning the logic behind not trying out Samson, especially considering his previous involvement with the national team. While fans sympathized with Samson, former India cricketer S Sreesanth, a member of India's triumphant 2011 World Cup squad, had some strong words for the batter.

Sreesanth criticized Samson's attitude and called for a change in mindset as he warned about the intensifying competition for spots in the Indian team. Despite Samson's promising start in ODIs, having made his debut in 2021 and scoring 390 runs at an impressive average of 55.71 with three fifties, Sreesanth pointed out the need for consistency.

Sreesanth explained that players like Rishabh Pant have displayed consistency throughout their careers, which Samson has lacked despite leading the state team. Sreesanth emphasized that Samson needs to adapt his approach, listen to advice from legends like Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar, and read the pitch better to make the most of his talent.

In conclusion, Sreesanth issued a stern warning to Samson, reminding him that there are other wicketkeeping options available for India. He advised Samson to focus on scoring consistently, not just for India but also in the Indian Premier League (IPL), to secure his place in the national side. The message was clear: talent alone is not enough; consistent performance is the key to success.
