Venkat Viswanathan made it into the IIFL Hurun India Rich List 2022 with estimated wealth of Rs 5,500. The debutant now commands the whopping net worth post the bumper IPO of his company LatentView Analytics in 2021. The NSE listed firm currently has a market cap of over Rs 9,340 crore.

Viswanathan is the son of an accountant and was brought up in Chennai before his family shifted to Delhi. He returned to the city as a BTech student at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras from where he earned a degree in civil engineering. While many of his IIT batchmates went overseas for further education or work, Venkat stayed behind and decided to pursue MBA. He landed admission at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta.

Starting his professional life working with the Essar Group, he got placed at credit rating agency ICRA and then worked at Cognizant before founding LatentView in 2006. After initial years of struggle forced by the recession, LatentView acquired two major US deals in 2010 which proved to be the turning point.

As business grew, Venkat and his co-founders Ramesh Hariharan and Pramad Jandhyala identified the need to bring in a professional CEO. Venkat's IIM network proved the gamechanger here as he roped in two batchmates - first Gopi Koteeswaran and then Rajan Sethurama - as CEOs for LatentView.

Venkat entered the big league after LatentView saw its incredibly successful IPO seeing record subscription of over 338 times on offer. Venkat Viswanathan reportedly holds 60 percent stake in the company. He now serves as the Founder-Chairman of the company.
