Dangal, RRR, KGF Chapter 2, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Pathaan are some of the most highest-grossing films in Indian cinema earning hundreds of crores worldwide. However, these films have been made on huge budgets too, which means that they actually didn't make exceptional profits.

In 2019, came one film that went on to become one of the most cost-efective films in the history of Indian cinema as it made an astounding profit of 876%. The film, being talked about is Vicky Kaushal-starrer war drama Uri: The Surgical Strike, which was based on India's retaliation of the 2016 Uri attacks.

Aditya Dhar made his directorial debut with Uri and even went on to win the National Film Award for Best Director. Vicky himself won the National Film Award for Best Actor for the military action film. The film won two other awards for Best Audiography and Best Music (Background Score). Made on a budget of Rs 25 crore, the film collected Rs 240 crore net in India and Rs 340 crore gross worldwide, and turned out to be the third highest-grossing film in 2019 behind War and Kabir Singh.

It's destined that Vicky Kaushal delivered one of the most profitable films in Indian cinema after earning his first salary of Rs 1500. Sharing details about the same in his recent interview for Be A Man, Yaar series on Yuvaa, the Masaan actor said, "After I had completed my engineering and decided to pursue acting, I was working with Rage Productions, a company managed by Rahul Da Cunha, Rajit Kapur, and Shernaz Patel. At that time, I was a production boy, specifically handling costumes. It was there that I received my very first earnings, a cheque of Rs 1,500."

"This moment held great significance for me. Until then, I used to only help in my dad’s bank work. So, when I finally held my cheque in my hands, it was a memorable experience. I can still vividly remember that night; it was around 10:30 pm, and I was seated at Bandra station, gazing at the Rs 1,500 check with my name, Vicky Kaushal, printed on it", the actor added.

In the past few years, Vicky has become one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood as his recent hit Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, a romantic drama with Sara Ali Khan, went on to become a surprise hit this year when Akshay Kumar's Selfiee and Prabhas's Adipurush have had disaster results at the box office.
