Before making his debut in Bollywood, Shammi Kapoor started doing theater with his father. Shammi Kapoor was last seen in his brother Raj Kapoor's grandson Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Rockstar'. He played the role of a shehnai player in the superhit film.

​Shammi Kapoor started his acting career with 'Jeevan Jyoti' in 1953 and he never looked back after making his Bollywood debut. Shammi Kapoor gave many superhit films in his career. Shammi Kapoor gave many superhit films in his career like 'Andaz', 'Kashmir Ki Kali', 'Brahmachari', 'Junglee' and 'Dil Deke Dekho'. But, then there came a time when Shammi's career graph started falling and he gave 25 flop films in a row. But, even after this his craze among the fans remained intact and he was never called a flop actor. Shammi Kapoor died August 11, 2011.
