Karan Johar reacts to Priyanka Chopra's thriving career in Hollywood, heaps praise on her journey.
Karan Johar recently graced the premiere of the film KILL, which he co-produced, at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival 2023 (TIFF). During the premiere, the filmmaker also shared his thoughts about Priyanka Chopra’s career in Hollywood and described her journey as ‘fantastic’.
In a recent conversation with ET Canada, when asked about his views on Priyanka Chopra’s thriving career in Hollywood, Karan Johar applauded the actress’ journey and said, “it’s great to see her grow from strength to strength, to achieve the kind of success she has on her own terms. And she’s always wonderful on every platform she has ever been on and everything she ever stands for and represents. It’s fantastic.”
He further added, “I feel because of the digital revolution, we’re all kind of coming together, you know, and I feel like the worlds are blurred now and like the lines are blurred and everyone is like, you spoke about Priyanka and more power to her and more power to everyone that actually has globalized.”
In the same interview, Karan Johar also opened up on if he will ever make a Hollywood movie and said, “I don’t know if that is ever going to happen. I’m very satisfied with the work I do. And I always want to make a film in the language I grew up in. I don’t want to design a film that’s not for my country. That’s the most important thing for me. But meeting Meryl Streep has nothing to do with that, right?”
Priyanka Chopra transitioned from Bollywood to Hollywood with a lead role in the Television series “Quantico” and followed it with a successful role in “Baywatch”. The actress was recently seen in the romantic drama Love Again and the Russo Brothers’ web series titled Citadel. The actress is now busy shooting for her upcoming movie Heads Of State along with John Cena.
Karan Johar on the other hand is currently enjoying the worldwide success of his comeback directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan in key roles. The movie crossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide at the box office.
